An informative health and social care event is set to be held in Renfrewshire this month.

The Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership will host a Self-Directed Support (SDS) Information Event on Monday, May 12 at Tweedie Hall in Linwood from 9am to 3.30pm.

It aims to provide attendees with insights into the opportunities presented by SDS, which offers individuals more autonomy over their health and social care support.

The discussions, scheduled in collaboration with Social Work Scotland, Self Directed Support Scotland (SDSS), and In Control Scotland, will focus on improving flexibility, transparency, and the transformative potential of SDS.

Highlighted topics will include first-hand experiences, collaborative partnership efforts, and innovative methods for delivering support.

The Information Event aims to shed light on SDS practices and promote approaches that are more centred around individuals, sustainable, and responsive to local requirements.

It is designed to bring together people with lived experience, carers, professionals and partners.

Attendees are assured of accessibility throughout the event with amenities that include accessible parking, a Changing Places toilet, and a quiet space.

Refreshments will also be provided during the event.
