A family band's new anthem is capturing the imagination of Scotland fans hoping for World Cup glory.

See Our Likes Again, a World Cup song by Paisley trio Whyte Noise, aims to rally supporters ahead of Scotland’s long-awaited return to the men’s finals.

Scotland's qualification for the 2026 tournament in the USA, Canada, and Mexico marks their first appearance in 28 years.

The song celebrates that achievement and pays tribute to the team’s crucial goals against Denmark last year.

Ciaran Whyte, 28, who wrote the song, said: “My dad grew up with the great World Cup songs such as Ally’s Tartan Army and We Have a Dream, which we’ve often sung together.

“I wanted to capture something of the passion and humour of these songs for this year’s World Cup – because Scotland fans have big hearts and hopes, but we also love to laugh at ourselves too!”

The track includes a standout contribution from football commentator Derek Rae, who lent his voice for a 20-second segment of imagined World Cup commentary.

Ciaran said: “When I was in Germany during the European Championship in 2024, Derek Rae saw my social media posts of me performing for both the Tartan Army and the German locals and shared them with his followers.

“I thought our World Cup song would really be enhanced by a bit of commentary which imagined Scotland winning the tournament, and so reached out to Derek to see if he was up for the task.

“He was delighted to get involved and his commentary is so good, it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up every time I hear it.”

Whyte Noise, made up of Ciaran Whyte, his dad Gordon, and mum Susan, has been steadily growing their fanbase since the release of their debut album What We Love To Do in July 2025.

Known for their folk-inspired sound and three-part harmonies, they have become a regular feature at music venues and folk clubs across the country.

A music video to accompany their new single was filmed around Hampden Park in Glasgow and features footage with Scotland fans before the friendly against Japan in March.

It also includes the recently unveiled mural celebrating Scott McTominay’s memorable overhead kick in the Denmark match last year.

Ahead of the World Cup, the family band will headline an unofficial ‘Tartan Army Leaving Party’ at The Clutha Bar in Glasgow on Thursday, June 4, where they hope fans will join in a chorus of See Our Likes Again.
