A Renfrewshire law firm has been named a double finalist in the Scottish Legal Awards.
MJC Law, based in Paisley, is in the running for both Excellence in Community Care and Social Responsibility and Firm of the Year (Up to 250 Employees) at the 2026 awards.
This marks the second consecutive year the firm has reached the finals.
Founded in 2016 by Matthew Coffield, the firm was established to protect people in debt from homelessness and to improve access to justice.

That original purpose remains central to its work a decade later, with legal aid services and monthly pro bono clinics offered in partnership with East Renfrewshire Citizens Advice Bureau.
Over the past year, the firm has grown to a team of nine through recruitment and internal progression, while continuing to invest in staff development.
The firm was also named High Street Firm of the Year at the Herald Law Awards in 2025.

The Scottish Legal Awards recognise excellence across Scotland’s legal profession and celebrate individuals, teams, and firms making a major contribution to the sector.
All winners will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday, September 17, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central.
