An award-winning Italian restaurant is being celebrated as a “jewel in the crown” of its town centre.

Alison Taylor MP praised Caffé Royale in Paisley during a visit to mark Scotland Loves Local Week, a campaign which encourages communities to support businesses on their doorstep.

Located at 71 Glasgow Road, Caffé Royale has been a fixture in the community for 10 years.

Ms Taylor said: "I visited Caffé Royale to highlight the high-quality food and service on offer and met with owner Claire Guthrie to learn more.

"Caffé Royale is a beautifully designed, family-owned and run restaurant that is a jewel in the crown in the east end of Paisley.

"I fully support Scotland Loves Local Week and the drive to boost the many fantastic local businesses across my Paisley and Renfrewshire North constituency.

"Places like Caffé Royale are the lifeblood of the local community and make a real difference to the friends, family and the public who visit.

"To me, Caffé Royale personifies everything good about supporting local businesses.

"It’s a family-friendly restaurant and as well as offering a sophisticated lunch and dinner menu it also offers a range of meal options for children.

"It was a genuine pleasure spending time with the Caffé Royale team.

"I picked up their passion for high-quality, home-cooked food and making sure diners feel special and well looked after.

"They’re also an important part of the community, as I saw as they waved hello to locals as they passed on their way home or stopped for coffee or lunch at the pavement dining area.

"When we shop local, we create better places to live and work. I encourage people to visit Caffé Royale and enjoy good food and good times."

Caffé Royale owner Claire Guthrie explained how the Paisley business plans to continue its position as a key part of the local community.

She said: "We are the proud recipient of three Eccellenze Italiane awards which recognise our contribution to Italian food and culture.

"Like most of the hospitality sector, we are living through challenging times, but we are determined to maintain the high standards and great service we’re renowned for.

"We’re looking to take on another chef as part of that commitment to excellence.

"We’ve also launched our popular takeaway service, which enables you to have the Caffé Royale experience from within the comfort of your own home.

"All dishes are derived from the main al la carte menu. Once you place your order, you will be allocated a time slot to come and collect your food, desserts and everything in-between.

"We have been based here on Glasgow Road for 10 years, and we look forward to welcoming many more guests."
