A fresh wave of funding is bringing the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games spirit to life in Renfrewshire.

Five local organisations have secured a share of £45,816 in National Lottery funding from the Awards for All programme, helping them deliver sport, arts and community events inspired by the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

This funding is part of the All In campaign, a Scotland-wide movement encouraging communities to mark the Games in their own unique ways.

The Renfrewshire organisations receiving support include Active Communities (Scotland) and Roar – Connections for Life in Johnstone, and Youth Inspired and Renfrewshire Effort to Empower Minorities in Paisley, and Include Me 2 Club in Barrhead.

Neil Ritch, The National Lottery Community Fund Director for Scotland, said: "We’re delighted to support Include Me 2 Club, Active Communities (Scotland), Roar - Connections for Life, Youth Inspired and Renfrewshire Effort to Empower Minorities to bring the spirit of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games to their community through The National Lottery Awards for All Scotland.

"It’s really exciting to see so many communities go All in and get inspired to deliver sports, arts and cultural activity.

"Thanks to National Lottery players, we’re helping make sure the benefit of the Games is felt in communities right across Scotland."

Include Me 2 Club has been awarded £9677 to deliver five fully accessible events over three months, featuring sports and live music.

Active Communities (Scotland) will use its £10,000 grant to run a year-long programme of free community wellbeing, cultural, and creative events inspired by the Games.

Johnstone-based Roar – Connections for Life has received £8426 to engage older people through intergenerational, Commonwealth-themed activities.

Youth Inspired, given £7713, will deliver a nine-week programme of sports, arts, crafts, and entertainment for residents of all ages.

Renfrewshire Effort to Empower Minorities has secured £10,000 to remove barriers to participation through inclusive sports and wellbeing activities for families and young people from minority backgrounds.

The funding is designed to improve access to sport and creativity while boosting health, wellbeing and social interaction.

It also aims to celebrate Scotland’s rich cultural diversity and ensure the Glasgow 2026 Games are felt across the nation.

Chris Ansell, Glasgow 2026 director of  live programmes and engagement, said: "From Shetland to the Borders, we want every community in Scotland to feel part of Glasgow 2026.

"The response from communities across the country has been brilliant with the nation really embracing the spirit of the Games and channelling it into sport, arts and cultural activity.

"Thanks to support from the National Lottery, we are gathering communities together to celebrate the Games in their own way.

"These projects are proof that the impact of the Games reaches far beyond our incredible venues, sparking something real and lasting in communities.

"We couldn't be more proud to see that happening right across Scotland."

The funding forms part of a wider £2.2 million investment in communities through the National Lottery Awards for All Scotland programme, delivered jointly by The National Lottery Community Fund, sportscotland and Creative Scotland.

Groups can receive up to £10,000 to support activities that reflect and engage their local communities.

Funding is still available for projects set to take place after the Games, extending the legacy of the Games long after the closing ceremony.

Community organisations interested in applying can find further details on the National Lottery Community Fund website.
