A major supermarket is set for a shock closure in Paisley.

Farmfoods, which is situated on Causeyside Street, will cease trading later this year.

The store will close on Sunday, September 29, according to staff at the town centre site.

The retailer continues to operate hundreds of stores across the UK, however, it has recently closed a number of individual branches, including stores on Victoria Road, Anniesland Road and Knightswood in Glasgow, with the Paisley branch now joining that growing list.

It comes as number of retailers have left Paisley town centre over the last few years.
