Johnstone Burgh hit Darvel for six in their final warm-up match ahead of the new season.

Burgh took an early lead at Recreation Park and never looked back as they recorded a 6-2 victory over the West of Scotland Football League Premier Division side.

The result comes just a few days after a 4-0 win at Ardrossan Winton Rovers as boss Stevie Farrell sees his squad start to take shape after being appointed as boss in May.

It’s been a worthwhile pre-season for Faz as his side also recorded wins over St Roch’s and Knightswood after losing to Annan Athletic in their first outing.

The Keanie Park outfit are the idle team in the first round of Lowland League West fixtures this weekend with all eyes on Tuesday’s opener against Troon as Burgh compete at that level for the first time.

Kick-off at Keanie Park is 7:45pm.
