The council has announced that bin collection days will be changing in Renfrewshire.
Renfrewshire Council will introduce the new collection days from Monday, September 7, 2026, as part of a drive to modernise and improve services.
The frequency of collections will stay the same, but all homes will receive updated schedules advising them of their new bin days.
Councillor Jacqueline Cameron, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Infrastructure, Land and Environment Policy Board, said: "We want to provide Renfrewshire residents with the best possible bin collection service, and these changes will further modernise and improve how we do this across 93,000 homes.
"We’ll be collecting bins on different days and residents should look out for their information packs through their letterboxes, giving them everything they need to know."

Information packs explaining the changes and including revised calendars will begin arriving at households from Friday, August 21, 2026.
The changes introduce a two-day collection model, meaning most residents will now have two separate collection days instead of one.
Recycling bins—blue, green, or brown—will be collected on one day, while the general waste bin (grey) will be collected on another.
The revised system follows a successful pilot involving 10,000 homes, which began last year.
Cameron said: "These latest measures will mean less bins to put out on each collection day and will help keep pavements clearer.
"It also means our collection crews are on the most effective routes, reducing our carbon emissions and fuel costs."
There are 1,500 rural or hard-to-access properties being moved onto the standard collection schedule.
Residents living in flats will see bulk bin collections adjusted, with changes applied automatically.
Commercial waste customers will receive separate communications outlining their new schedules.
The bin day changes are the latest step in the council’s ongoing waste and recycling improvements.
Other updates include the introduction of online tools to view and download bin calendars, set reminders, and check collection details.
Zero Waste Scotland funding has enabled the rollout of food waste recycling packs to 80,000 homes and improved recycling services for more than 8,000 flats.
In-cab technology has also been introduced to give crews real-time updates during collections.
Additional recycling options now include small electrical items at libraries and larger items at household waste centres.

She said: "We’re committed to doing everything we can to drive improvements and support residents to recycle for Renfrewshire.
"As well as the collection information arriving by post, people can look up their new collections on our website once it switches over on Monday 7 September."
The assisted collection service for those who need help moving bins will remain in place and will carry over to the new collection days without any additional action required from residents.
