The Paisley Pirates are set to celebrate eight decades of ice hockey this month.

The club is inviting fans to an 80th birthday party at Vienna’s Nightclub in Paisley on Friday, August 28, celebrating its long history since being founded in 1946.

This event will offer supporters the opportunity to meet the 2026/27 squad, as well as former players and club legends.

It will also include live interviews and the official unveiling of the new season jerseys.

Calum Wilson, marketing and communications manager for the Paisley Pirates, said: "Our 80th anniversary is about much more than one season.

"It is an opportunity to celebrate everyone who has been part of the Paisley Pirates story over the last eight decades.

"We want to bring together the current team, former players, supporters and people from across Paisley to celebrate that history together.

"There have been so many people who have contributed to this club over the years, and this is a chance for fans to be part of a genuinely important occasion for the Pirates.

"We’re also incredibly excited to introduce the team for the new season and reveal our 80th anniversary jerseys for the first time.

"Most importantly, we’re looking forward to being right here in Paisley and celebrating with everyone."

The party will also kick off a new partnership between the Pirates and Vienna’s Nightclub, which has come on board as a sponsor for the 2026/27 season.

Doors for the event will open at 7pm, with the party set to begin at 7.30pm.

This is a ticketed event, and further ticket information will be released soon via the club’s official social media channels.
