Separate requests for planning permission and advertisement consent for the cash machine at Dani’s Diner in Bridgewater Shopping Centre have been approved by the local authority.
NCR Atleos was informed of the planning department’s move to grant the applications, subject to conditions, in an official decision notice that was issued last week.
The financial technology company shared information on the project, such as the specific location of the dispenser, in a design and access statement that was published in June.
It said: "We are proposing to install an ATM to the right-hand side of the entrance at Dani’s Diner.
"The ATM will be installed within a laminate panel and integrated into the existing shopfront design.
"The site is not located within a conservation area, is not a listed building and forms part of an established commercial frontage within the Bridgewater Shopping Centre.
"The installation involves a modest ATM fascia and associated signage, resulting in minimal physical alteration to the building.
"The proposed ATM has been designed to complement the scale, materials and appearance of the existing frontage, ensuring it remains visually compatible with the surrounding commercial environment.
"As such, the proposal will not have a detrimental impact on the character or appearance of the host property, the wider street scene, or the amenity of the surrounding area.
"The scale and design of the ATM is considered appropriate for the commercial nature of the location and will maintain the visual integrity of the existing frontage."
In its assessment of the proposal, the council said: "Bridgewater Shopping Centre has a range of uses that could benefit from an additional ATM service.
"The machine would be appropriately positioned and would not detract from the overall appearance of the shopfront.
"There are no significant concerns in relation to noise or smell of an extent that would negatively impact the amenity of surrounding properties.
"Overall, the development would improve commercial services in the area while maintaining the amenity and sustainability of the core town centre."
In its decision notice, the local authority confirmed the proposal was in line with the provisions of the development plan.
