Fire engines old and new rolled through the streets as the Johnstone Fire Engine Rally made its return.

Held in the town centre on Saturday, the event began with a parade from Johnstone Community Fire Station and ended in Houstoun Square, where engines remained on display throughout the afternoon.

Crowds gathered to explore the vehicles, take part in activities, and learn about the evolution of firefighting.

Demonstrations included a demonstration of a chip pan fire by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Family-friendly entertainment included face painting, children’s characters, and a live stage programme from Johnstone Sound.

Nearby businesses also took part, with stalls at the Johnstone Business Consortium indoor market.

The event was hosted by Renfrewshire Council in partnership with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Heritage Trust and made possible through additional investment from the council to work with local communities.

The rally forms part of Renfrewshire Council’s ongoing programme to bring cultural and community events to life across the region.
