Parents can get the cost of their baby's first passport covered when booking a holiday.

easyJet and easyJet holidays are paying the £66.50 fee for infant travel documents when parents book a trip.

The promotion comes as around 585,000 families welcome a new baby each year in England and Wales.

A survey by the companies found that 75 per cent of parents agreed the move would make a holiday feel more affordable.

The airline has also partnered with the television programme Peppa Pig to offer guidance on travelling with infants.

easyJet pilot Kate West and character Mummy Pig appear in a video on YouTube with guidance on taking passport photographs.

Mummy Pig said: "Going on holiday with a baby can feel like a grand adventure before you've even left the house!

"But those shared moments - watching the little ones marvel at the clouds from their window seat and hearing Peppa, George and Evie giggle in the pool - are memories Daddy Pig and I will keep forever.

"We hope our tips help make getting that first passport, and first holiday, a little easier for more families."

Research by the firms showed that 36 per cent of parents named getting a passport as a hurdle when planning travel.

Parents needed four attempts on average to secure an approved photograph of their child, while 24 per cent needed up to six attempts.

Nearly one in 10 parents did not realise infants needed a passport until they began holiday plans.

Captain Kate West said: "We carry millions of families across Europe every year, and we know that travelling with a baby brings a whole series of exciting firsts.

"We want to make travel as easy and accessible as possible for everyone, including young families, so they can enjoy all the experiences and memories that travel can bring.

"We hope that covering the cost of a baby’s first passport goes a small way towards making that first family adventure a little easier and gives our youngest travellers a warm welcome to the world."

Company figures show bookings for infants travelling on easyJet holidays increased by 10 per cent in 2026 compared to 2025.

The airline also flew 22,000 more infants across its flight network over the same period.

Around 38 per cent of parents surveyed said they plan to travel abroad during their parental leave.

Stuart Wright, customer director at easyJet holidays, said: "Travel has a unique way of bringing families together, and a baby's very first holiday is often one of those moments parents remember for years to come.

"By covering the cost of a baby's first passport, we're helping more families start making those memories that little bit sooner. Combined with our great-value packages, family-friendly hotels and thousands of Free Kids Places, it's another way we're making family holidays easier and more affordable."
