A POPULAR supermarket is helping disadvantaged children in Glasgow wake up to a gift from Santa this Christmas.
The Christmas Wish Tree at Tesco Parkhead Forge ia not only adorned with festive decorations, but also tags from children asking Santa for a gift to open on December 25.

One of the tags captured in a picture taken by Twitter user @inevermissabeat was written by a 12-year-old girl asking for "hair stuff, make-up, toiletries and pyjamas".
Parkhead Forge has a tree where you pick a tag for a child who has no one and has written a list for Christmas. It ends next Monday so please go down and pick a child if you can, give a little love this Christmas ✨❤️ pic.twitter.com/RvtdQJkIBj

The festive initiative was organised by the Tesco Forge Parkhead Extra Community Group who hold a variety of fundraising campaigns for charity throughout the store.
Their wish is that every child in Glasgow has something to open on Christmas Day.
Donated gifts will go to Glasgow's Spirit of Christmas - a long-running campaign staffed entirely by volunteers and children's charity Barnardo's.
Local children in the Parkhead area will also benefit from the kindness of strangers this Christmas.

The Christmas Wish Tree has proven such a success that on Wednesday night, the community group announced they would be continuing the gift-giving for another week.
A post on the Tesco Parkhead Forge Extra Community Facebook page said: "We are continuing our collection for another week, to donate to Barnardo's in Easterhouse and local children from local schools and nurseries".
