A CAR on fire has been discovered in Paisley, promoting an appeal for dash cam footage.

Police Scotland said, at around 11.15pm last night (February 20), emergency services rushed to Seedhill Road following reports of a Dacia Duster on fire.

The fire was extinguished and nobody was injured.

Officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries and checking CCTV nearby in efforts to establish exactly how the incident occurred.

Detective sergeant Euan McMillan, of Paisley Police Office, said: “We are currently treating this incident as wilful and are appealing to anyone who may have any information to come forward.

“Did you notice anyone hanging around in the Seedhill Road area of Paisley last night, or hear or see anything that you now may believe could be related to this incident?

“No matter how insignificant it may have seemed at the time, it could be vital in our enquiries.

“We would also ask anyone who was driving in this area last night who has dash cam footage to get in touch, you could have information that could help us.”
