Three squash players from Strathgryffe Tennis, Squash and Fitness Club have been selected to represent Scotland this summer.

Teenagers Beth Moglia, John Meehan and Ruadhri McDougall will compete at under-17 level for Scotland at the European Team Championships in Sweden.

The five-strong Scotland squad will travel to Malmo, Sweden’s third largest city, in May to compete against Europe’s finest junior squash players.

Their selection follows recent success for the trio at the Scottish Junior National Championships in Aberdeen where Moglia and Meehan claimed silver medals in the GU17 and BU17 events respectively with McDougall claiming bronze in the BU17 event.

Coach Martin Woods said: “All three players have worked very hard over the past few years and their selection is a great reward for the time and effort they have put in. Strathgryffe has been a great club for them to join.

“It offers a very supportive approach to the development of junior squash players and has definitely contributed to the players’ success.”
