St Mirren have successfully appealed the second yellow card given to Brad Lyons on his debut against Alloa on Saturday.

The midfielder was shown his yellow card of the afternoon by referee Don Robertson for simulation following a challenge from Wasps captain Andy Graham. The Northern Irishman had been booked earlier for a foul on the same player.

Lyons, who joined on loan from Blackburn Rovers last week, will now be available for Saints' fifth round Scottish Cup tie against Dundee United next month following a Scottish FA hearing this morning.

Buddies boss Oran Kearney commented on the booking, insisting it was a clear foul.

He said: "We've looked at the footage and feel it's worth it. We're not trying to undermine the referees but we just feel that there was good upper body contact as well as lower body contact and for us it was a foul.

"I'm happy with the correct outcome. I'm glad that Brad won't miss any matches due to the decision.”

St Mirren resume their league campaign tonight against leaders Celtic before welcoming Hibernian to the Simple Digital Arena on Sunday.
