Paisley Pirates rounded off their regular season fixtures in convincing style on Sunday with an emphatic 20-0 thrashing of rivals Kilmarnock Thunder at Braehead Arena.

In a match as one-sided as the scoreline suggests, Ian Turley’s men confirmed their position as runners up in the Scottish National League behind champions Murrayfield Racers.

The hosts, who handed Callum Donaghy a rare start in goal, were sluggish in the opening five minutes before Martyn Guy put them ahead with his first of the evening.

It took Pirates all of seven minutes to make it 3-0 as Guy secured an early hat-trick with the floodgates now beginning to open.

Skipper Chris Turley netted a brace to make it 5-0 before Ryan Sarginson made it six before the break.

The Paisley side kept their foot on the gas in the middle period as Sarginson grabbed his second for 7-0 15 seconds in before Sami Hajru, Ben Walker, Dean Hamilton and Jardine Wallace made it 11-0.

Guy got his fourth moments before Sarginson grabbed his hat-trick to make it an unlucky 13 for the visitors.
