RENFREW co-manager Colin Clark insists his side are relishing the daunting challenge ahead as they prepare for a tense relegation battle.

The Frew made it three wins on the bounce at the weekend with a narrow 1-0 win over Kirkintilloch Rob Roy thanks to Scott Morton’s second-half strike.

And while Clark was delighted to pick up another crucial three points, he knows his side’s remaining four fixtures will be make or break with two matches against league leaders Hurlford United as well as fixtures against Clydebank and Pollok still to come.

That doesn’t faze Clark and fellow co-manager Martin Ferry, however, with the pair looking forward to challenging the league’s big guns.

Clark said: “The Kirkintilloch match was a must win for us. Hopefully wins like that will make all the difference in the run in. We’ve won three on the bounce now which was vital as we know our final four matches will be difficult.”

Clark continued: “We’ve taken nine points from the last nine. League leaders Hurlford next week so we know it will be difficult to make it 12 from 12.

“We’ve got a difficult run in now with Hurlford twice, Clydebank and Pollok but that’s what you want in this league - you come into the top league to play the top teams, so we’re looking forward to this.

“We need the points of course, but you can’t not look forward to facing the top teams at this stage of the season - you need to embrace that challenge.

“Survival is in our own hands still. Although it will be difficult, it is still all down to us. Of course we wouldn’t mind other teams doing us a favour but it’s still in our own hands which is key so we’re looking forward to it.”
