St Mirren have been handed a major boost by Kyle Magennis’ return to action for the reserves.
Magennis played the first 45 minutes on Monday afternoon as a double from Lewis Jamieson and an Alex McCaw strike saw a youthful Buddies side comfortably defeat their Ross County counterparts 3-0 at their Ralston training ground.
The 20-year-old has not featured for the Saints first-team since tearing his hamstring in a 2-2 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road on December 5.

The Scotland under-21 international, who starred as the Paisley side romped to the Championship by 12 points last season, has only managed 12 appearances this term as he has been plagued by hamstring issues.
But, he could be back just in the nick of time to help the Buddies try and preserve their Premiership status in their remaining five post-split fixtures.

Lee Hodson could also feature for the first time this weekend since being stretchered off in the 4-0 hammering away to Celtic in January after being an unused substitute at the Hope CBD Stadium as on loan Brighton winger Anders Dreyer’s spot-kick rescued a point for St Mirren last time out.

The Northern Irishman had returned to Rangers with what looked to be a season ending injury, but has since recovered and could start at Livingston on Saturday.
