ATTRACTING more than 100 players from a wide variety of golf clubs around Scotland and one member from Bishop Auckland Golf Club in County Durham, the annual Cochrane Castle Seniors Golf Club competition was held in Johnstone earlier this month.
On a warm and clear day on Thursday, May 9, the eventual overall winner and recipient of the Loganair Trophy was Joe Donnelly (pictured), who is a member at Loch Lomond Carrick Golf Club.
The individual age group winners were Gordon Sadler and Kevin Miller, of Cochrane Castle, and Brian Martin, of Erskine.
Elsewhere, players from Clober, Paisley, Windyhills and Cochrane Castle won individual prizes at designated holes throughout the course.
Afterwards, a separate raffle was held in aid of Prostate Cancer UK which raised £180 for the charity, with Alex Forbes, from Cochrane Castle, winning free entry for two players at the Cathkin Braes Seniors Stableford.
Next year’s event has been pencilled in for Thursday, May 14, 2020.
