Johnstone Burgh boss Jamie McKim has added a further four summer signings as he sets about rebuilding his squad with a highly-sought after target and a former Rangers youngster arriving at Keanie Park.

Speaking to Gazette Sport last week, McKim revealed that the club were close to agreeing a deal with a player he had been chasing for the best of two years.

And the gaffer was delighted to finally get his man with another three players taking his summer tally up to 12 in total.

“We’ve managed to get four boys signed up over the weekend,” McKim said. “One of those was Gordon Meredith - the boy we’ve been trying to sign for about 18 months now so we’re over the moon with that.

“Gordon has been at Alba Thistle for about 13 years now with the boys club right through to captain the top side. Alba have been successful over the years and he’s a brilliant footballer.

“He’s very, very good. I wanted him when I first took over here but it’s only now he fancies a crack at the juniors and I can’t wait to work with him.

“He’s 26 which means he has plenty of experience behind him but also plenty of years left in the tank. I’m really looking forward to getting him in as he is a real talent.

“We’ve also got another star in Daniel Stoney. He’s a top young player who played for Rangers. He played four matches under Ally McCoist back in 2013 so he has that experience with a top team. He also played for Stranraer and then Neilston before moving back down to Stranraer.

“He is a real winner. I’ve watched him play since he was a young boy and I’ve known him for a number of years now and he has a real passion to win along with his undoubted ability. He will be a major asset for us. A big pre-season for him and we could get the best out of him.

“We’ve also signed two boys from Barrhead YFC U21s with goalkeeper Stuart Collins and striker William Lennox coming in.

“We’ve still got a couple of spaces to fill. I’ve had talks with a boy this week who would also be a big signing so it’s just fingers crossed at the moment that we can get that one over the line too.”
