A RENFREWSHIRE ice hockey club has thanked fans for their support after the side's announcer suffered a heart attack during a game. 

Glasgow Clan stalwart Kevin McCorskrie was taken to hospital when he fell ill during the third period of the ice hockey side's win over Belfast Giants at Braehead Arena on Saturday night. 

He was taken to the Golden Jubilee Hospital in Clydebank where he was treated.

In a statement, the club said: "On Saturday during the third period, our Clan match night announcer Kevin McCoskrie suffered a heart attack and was taken to the Golden Jubilee Hospital in Clydebank where he received treatment and is now there recovering well.

"The whole of the Clan family would like to let Kevin know he is in our thoughts, as we wish him a speedy recovery.

"We would also like to thank club doctors John and Margaret Thompson for their outstanding assistance and support on Saturday night."
