Johnstone Burgh were left to rue missed chances as they suffered defeat at Cumbernauld United on Saturday.

The Keanie Park team took the lead at Guy’s Meadow when Jojo Gillespie helped the ball over the line from close range after 51 minutes.

Dale Fulton equalised from the spot for the home side on 69 minutes before Evariste Bembo got the winner shortly afterwards.

Burgh boss Jamie McKim admits he felt there was only going to be one winner once Cumbernauld had pulled level.

He said: “It’s very tough to take, especially after taking the lead.

“We had plenty of chances to extend our lead and didn’t take them and then, when they equalised, I thought we looked a bit fragile and they were going to go on and win the game.”

McKim’s team host promotion-chasing Drumchapel United this Saturday, with a 2pm kick-off at Keanie Park.
