Johnstone Burgh will be aiming to bounce back against Petershill on Wednesday night after suffering their first defeat of the season at the hands of early pace-setters Shotts Bon Accord.

The trip to Springburn comes hot on the heels of Saturday's 3-2 loss at Keanie Park.

Shotts took an early lead when Ben Richford netted after just 60 seconds.

The response from the home team was quick, however, with Kieran Brophy volleying home a few minutes later.

Burgh were soon playing catch-up again after Ally Martin squeezed a penalty into the bottom corner to put Shotts back in front.

And the visitors extended their lead after just 17 minutes as Paul McGeouch looped the ball over Kenzie Smyth.

Brophy scored his second to reduce the deficit before the break and, although Shotts goalkeeper Sandy Thomson had to make a stunning save from Gary McCann and Dale Simeon had an effort cleared off the line, there was to be no equaliser.

Wednesday night's match at Petershill starts at 7.45pm, with Burgh then hosting Blantyre Victoria at 2pm on Saturday.
