Johnstone Burgh boss Jamie McKim hailed his players for their fighting spirit after picking up a point at Ashfield on Saturday.

Graham Dorrans curled in a beauty for Burgh on the half-hour mark but the hosts levelled through Jonny Black before the interval.

Ashfield took control in the second half as Sean Doherty gave them the lead and Bobby Barr added a third.

It looked like Burgh were going to leave Stepford Park empty-handed until the closing minutes of the game, when Dale Simeon popped up with a brace.

McKim said: “We’re very fortunate to come away with a point.

“We didn’t have much control of the game but credit to our players for coming back in the last five minutes.”

Burgh are on Scottish Junior Cup duty this Saturday as they host Dundee North End in the second round, with a 2.30pm kick-off at Keanie Park.
