Johnstone Burgh boss Jamie McKim believes bringing defender Stuart Fyfe back to the club represents a good bit of business.

Fyfe was a Keanie Park player for more than three years and wore the captain's armband last season before moving to the Premier Division with Irvine Meadow.

He has now returned to Burgh, with McKim hoping he can boost the club's promotion push.

“We’ve had a wee bit of inconsistency in the first part of the season in our defensive shape and organisation," McKim told Gazette Sport.

“Since Jason Naismith has come in and with Craig Menzies back from injury, we have improved and I think Stuart coming in and being another option improves the squad.

“We’re always looking to strengthen our options and he knows this league and this club very well, so it’s good to have him back.”

Burgh were due to face Dundee North End in the Scottish Junior Cup at the weekend but it was one of many games called off after torrential rain.

McKim's men are scheduled to host Kilbirnie Ladeside in a rearranged South Challenge Cup tie this Saturday, with kick-off at 2pm.
