RENFREW Juniors co-manager Colin Clark has urged his team to seize their chance at Scottish Junior Cup glory when Sauchie visit New Western Park on Saturday.

Frew welcome the East Region outfit on the back of lengthy run of good form in the Super League First Division, Renfrew are unbeaten in their last seven league games. Sauchie, who ply their trade in the East Premier but look set for promotion back to the top flight, will fancy their chances having thumped East Superleague side Broughty Athletic 4-0 in the last round. Both teams will be playing for the right to join some of junior football’s biggest clubs in the hat for the last eight.

Clark is eager for his side to take confidence from their impressive home record since the move to New Western Park and reach the quarters for the first time under the stewardship of himself and Martin Ferry.

He said: “It’s a tie that both teams will see as winnable. They’re a good side who are going well in their league and look like they will get promotion back to the Superleague.

“We know it’s going to be very difficult, but our draw could’ve been a lot of worse and our home record is good so it’s a good chance to get to the quarters.”

Meanwhile Clark are Ferry have already moved to secure some of their key players on deals for next season.

Last week Scott Morton, Paddy O’Keefe and Kieran Healy signed new contracts until June 2018. Clark expects more of the squad to follow suit in the coming weeks.

He said: “There should be some more signing up soon, we’re hoping to get everybody tied down early so we can then add to that.

“Those three have done really well for us so it’s great to have them for next season.”

Renfrew v Sauchie kicks off at 2.15pm at New Western Park on Saturday.
