A SUSPECTED deliberate fire in Paisley has seen thousands of pounds worth of joinery equipment destroyed.
The working shed containing “quality tools” was set ablaze in a back garden at Ferguslie Park Avenue.
At around 3.40am on Wednesday, June 22 the business owner discovered to his horror that his storage unit was up in flames.
He did not see the person responsible for starting the fire which has incinerated the expensive contents inside.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area to come forward.
Detective Inspector Sandy Nelson from Paisley CID said: “We believe that this was a deliberate fire and enquiries are continuing.
“We are appealing for anyone in the area who may have seen anything suspicious at the time to contact the police on 101.”
