STUDENTS, parents and staff are delighted at the excellent exam results achieved by the senior students of Trinity High School.

A total of 14% of the fifth year group at the Renfrew school gained five Higher passes and 55% of the S4 students achieved 5 National 5 Awards.

There was also an increase in students achieving six and seven awards at National 5, with 10 receiving all As.

The three students that achieved all A passes at Higher level were Hannah Leggat, Angelina Malcher and Sarah E Scullion, all aged 17.

Clever pupil Sarah sat Higher Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry and Modern Studies in fifth year.

She said: "I was relieved and over the moon when I got the text message, I screamed with delight and woke up my parents.

"I was happy that my hard work had paid off and couldn't have done it without the support of my parents and teachers.

"To celebrate I went out to dinner with my parents, their reaction was that they were not that surprised but immensely proud.

"This year I am doing three more Highers and I am hoping to study Architecture when I leave school."

Looking to follow in the footsteps of the high achieving senior pupils are the new S1 pupils who started this week.

The fresh faced youngsters and their parents were excited as the students started their first day in Trinity High School.

They all looked smart in their new uniform and excited at the great opportunities that lie ahead in the school.

Headteacher Margaret Anne Renfrew said: "This year's results reflects the hard work and commitment of the young people, parents and staff of Trinity High School.

"We look forward to the coming year and continued success of the school."
