ANIMAL lovers are being encouraged to help abandoned cats.

A number of moggies are currently being cared for by the team at Johnstone Cat Rescue.

And it is hoped that people in Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire will be able to help.

Every rescued cat costs money in vet bills, food, litter trays, toys and other equipment.

In the last year alone, the group has paid out over £4,000 to ensure the very best of care for its rescued cats.

Most of this money was donated by members of the public.

The group is now trying to raise another £1,000 to ensure its survival in the months ahead.

A donation of £5 will feed a cat for a week.

A donation of £10 will pay for a flea or worm treatment and £20 will cover a vet health check or buy four bags of litter.
