CARING pupils at an Erskine school have staged a successful fundraising event, inspired by a brave youngster who is battling a life-shortening illness.
Erskine tot Mila Marr was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when she was just three weeks old.
The genetic condition sees only half of its sufferers live to celebrate their 40th birthday, with the faulty gene slowly destroying the lungs and digestive system.
Showing their support for the toddler, Barsail Primary pupils held a fundraising event in Mila’s honour.
Little ones at the school staged a day of activities to raise cash for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
The fun included raffles, with hampers up for grabs, and games such as hook-the-duck.
Basketball, beat-the-goalie and face-painting were some of the other activities on offer during the day, while girls were also able to get some sparkly nail designs.
The fundraising total has yet to be confirmed but Mila’s parents were delighted to see such support for their daughter.
A spokesperson for the Team Mila fundraising group said: “We would like to say a big thank-you to all the staff and pupils of Barsail Primary School who very kindly invited us along to their fundraising day.
“Mila just loved meeting all the pupils, who were so polite and kind to her. They are a real credit to the school and their parents.
