A MAN was taken to hospital after a 'serious' crash between three cars on the M8 near Glasgow Airport.
The crash happened at around 8.30am when a car crashed into the back of a red VW Golf, which then collided with the rear of a silver VW Polo at the Whitecart Viaduct eastbound.
The car, which has been described as a 'bluey/green' VW Polo or Golf, stopped momentarily at the scene before heading off in the direction of Hillington.
A search is now underway to try and track it down.
Officers said it would have suffered damage to its front.
The driver of the red VW golf was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Enquiries are underway to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses or information and in particular any dash cam footage which could assist the investigation.
Anyone with information should call 101.
