POPULAR live music venue The Bungalow in Paisley has been "smashed up beyond repair" by vandals.

The venue, which is based in Shuttle Street in the town centre, was broken into yesterday during closing hours.

After gaining access, vandals trashed the inside of the building and caused a considerable amount of damage.

The Bungalow released a statement on Facebook yesterday, saying: "Last night our little musical household was broken into with pieces of our property being smashed up beyond repair and vandalised.

"If anyone seen or heard anything/anyone suspicious around The Bungalow last night please contact Police Scotland.

"We urge you to ensure that you lock the windows and doors on you property and vehicles at all times as we are sad to have found this horrible situation this morning."

Since the news broke, members of the community have rallied around the venue and have offered their assistance.

Some have said they can help with repairs while others have suggested setting up a crowdfunder to cover the costs of fixing the place.
