A TALENTED singer is to release a single in aid of a hospice after she lost her friend to cancer.

Emma Gillespie, who found fame through winning Sky 1’s Must Be the Music show, has written The Story Goes On to raise cash for St Vincent’s Hospice, in Howwood.

Last year, one of Emma’s friends lost her battle with cancer at the age of 30 while under the care of the hospice.

Emma said: “This project is very close to my heart. St Vincent’s Hospice provided my friend Michelle with a peaceful sanctuary and so much more during her final months.

"This song is about the never ending dance of life and death and all that's in between and beyond.

"My hope is that it will bring comfort to others.

"St Vincent's Hospice rely heavily on donations to continue their services and I am to raise as much as possible."

The song is available for download from all major music stores and streaming services.

Kate Lennon, chief executive St Vincent’s Hospice, said: “It was a great privilege for all of us at the hospice to have known and cared for Michelle.

“What a wonderful gift Emma has shared with us through this song."
