A MAN has been arrested by the Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Police Unit after a four-year operation.

Officers arrested the 46-year-old, who is suspected of serious and organised crime, drug supply and money laundering offences, in Paisley on Wednesday.

Detective Superintendent Stephen Grant said: "This week's activity marks the culmination of an extensive police operation targeting those engaging in serious and organised crime in the west of Scotland.

"Police Scotland will not tolerate this type of criminal behaviour, which can destroy communities and will continue to focus on putting a stop to these activities."

The man was due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court yesterday.

Anyone with information about serious and organised crime in their area is urged to contact police on 101.
