The SNP will stay the largest group on Renfrewshire Council after 21 members were elected.
Iain Nicolson, leader during the last term, described it as a “fantastic result” after the final outcome was confirmed.
“The voters have put their trust back in us again,” he said in the immediate aftermath of the announcement.
A total of 43 councillors have been elected across the local authority’s 12 wards.
Labour had 15 candidates elected, while the Conservatives had five, followed by one Liberal Democrat and one independent.
