Do you recognise anyone or remember these stories?
1. There were smiles all around in Linwood after community councillors were presented with a generous cash boost of £1,000.
2. Families had a feast of fun as the Bridge of Weir festival kicked off. Residents gathered to celebrate the event with their annual Gala Day, which commenced with a lively parade at the Cargill Hall in the village.
3. A caring councillor took part in a sponsored cycle in Howwood to show his dedication to a vital charity. Stephen McGee teamed up with two other cyclists to travel 120 miles, helping to raise more than £2,000 in aid of Marten’s Progress.
4. Teenage novelist Victoria Campbell paid a special visit to book smart youngsters at Gryffe High. The former Gryffe pupil and author of the popular book ‘Viking Gold’ returned to Houston to share some writing tips and inspiration behind her burgeoning career.
5. Around 100 competitors from across Scotland took part in the UK’s biggest bodybuilding event, with a number of Renfrewshire stars impressing the judges.
6. Motocross ace John Adamson from Houston secured third place in the East Cumbria Motocross Championships.
