Police have appealed for information after a thief targeted Renfrew High School at the weekend.

A security officer attended the building after an alarm was triggered at around 9.50pm on Sunday.

On arrival, they noticed damage to the school and various drawers had been ransacked.

A dog unit was deployed to the building but the thief had already fled the scene.

A police spokesperson said enquiries are ongoing and CCTV footage is being reviewed.

Witnesses and anyone else who has information are asked to call officers on 101.
