A man was attacked with a glass bottle on a Glasgow train.
The service was travelling from Glasgow Central to Ayr on Saturday night when the incident occurred.
The train was forced to stop at Johnstone station while emergency services were called to the scene.
The man was treated for minor injuries but he did not need to go to hospital.
Transport cops are now investigating the incident and are urging anyone who witnessed it to get in touch.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Johnstone railway station at 9.45pm on August 5 following reports of a disturbance.
"One man was assaulted and treated at the scene for minor injuries, however, he did not need hospital treatment.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and any witnesses who haven’t already spoken to police can contact BTP by texting 61016 quoting ref 688 of 05/08/23."
