Drivers are set to be impacted for over a month as a section of a busy motorway undergoes essential work.
From Friday, August 18 until Saturday, September 30, Junctions 25 (Cardonald) and 25A (Braehead) of the M8 will see 24-hour works, a contraflow and a temporary 40mph speed limit implemented as the final phase of essential bridge deck refurbishments commences.
Speed cameras will be installed and remain active until the completion of the scheme, and Eastbound hard shoulder closures will also be installed from Tuesday, August 15 to Thursday, August 17 ahead of the works.
To remobilise the traffic management at this location a total closure of the M8 westbound between Junctions 24 and 26 will be required from 8pm on Friday, August 18 until 6am on Saturday, August 19 with a signed diversion in operation.
A second total closure of the M8 eastbound between Junctions 27 and 24 will be required from 8pm on Sunday, August 20 until 6am on Monday, August 21 with a signed diversion in place.

This scheme is said to benefit vehicles using the route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
Access to emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout the works, and road users have been thanked for their patience and cooperation while the 'essential work' continues.
