Passengers heading through security at Glasgow Airport have faced unexpected delays due to an ongoing security incident.

Travellers looking to pass security to get on their flights started revealing on social media about the delays just before 2pm today.

What is happening at Glasgow Airport?

A passenger told the Glasgow Times that 'police stations' were set up before duty-free at security.

He advised that every passenger was getting their passport manually checked before they were allowed through. 

This is the section of the airport where you normally scan your boarding pass before placing your items on a conveyor belt to be checked by scanners.

At this section, you also walk through a detector and can be searched. The Glasgow Times understands this is where the delay is. 

The Glasgow Times also understands that the queue is now massive due to the extra checks causing delays.

Passengers are being told that UK Border Forces are dealing with a national incident. The passenger who spoke to The Glasgow Times said he believed that police were looking for someone. An official source has not commented on this.
