EMERGENCY service crews rushed to a busy street in Paisley last night after reports of a tenement building on fire.

Firefighters attended the blaze on Clavering Street in the town at around 9.52pm on Monday, September 18.

In total, three vehicles and one height appliance were sent to the incident and crews extinguished a fire against the external face of a four-storey tenement building.

It is understood no casualties were reported following the blaze.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 9.52pm on Monday, September 18, to reports of a building fire at Clavering Street in Paisley.

"Operations Control mobilised three appliances and a height appliance to the scene and firefighters extinguished a fire external face of a four-storey tenement building.

"No casualties were reported and crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe."
