1. Superfit graduate Chris Mount was set to stop off in Johnstone during a 900-mile journey from John o' Groats to Land's End to raise funds for four charities.
2. Fire boss Paul Tanzilli, local senior officer for Renfrewshire East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde, urged residents stay to safe by going to official fireworks events in the run up to Bonfire Night.
3. Renfrewshire modern apprentices Amanda Moore, Andrew Evans and Murray Sutherland, pictured with former Scotland international rugby union player Scott Hastings, celebrated getting sponsorship for the second year of their programme with Scottish Rugby Union.
4. Alistair Iain Paterson, of Bishopton, was shortlisted for the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year award.
5. Houston ROAR club members were raising awareness about the importance of keeping elderly residents warm ahead of the winter weather.
6. Five lucky children from Newmains Primary, in Renfrew, won the opportunity to meet football superstar David Beckham and quadruple gold Paralympian Ellie Simmonds.
