999 crews rushed to a blaze at an abandoned building in Paisley last night.

It comes after the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service received a report of a flat fire on St Mirren Street at around 10.45pm on Wednesday, November 29.

In total, six fire vehicles attended the scene where firefighters extinguished a fire in a derelict building.

The area was taped off during the incident.

Meanwhile, it is understood no one was injured.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were alerted at 10.44pm on Wednesday, November 29, to reports of a dwelling fire on St Mirren Street, Paisley.

"Operations control mobilised a total of six appliances to the scene where firefighters extinguished a fire within a derelict building.

"There were no reported casualties and crews left at 2.13am on Thursday, November 30."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a fire at a derelict building on High Street, Paisley, around 11.40pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

"The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire and officers attended to assist.

"There were no reports of any injuries and the road was closed until around 2.30am.”
