A main car park in Paisley is set for "important structural repairs" as spaces are reduced.

Renfrewshire House car park on Cotton Street in the town centre will see a temporary reduction in the number of spaces available to the public in the evenings and weekends.

Renfrewshire Council released the news on social media confirming that the lower ground floor will be cordoned off from Saturday 17 February.

The works are set to start on Monday, February 19.

A temporary route is scheduled to be in place throughout the closure with work expected to last two months.

Alternative parking is available nearby at Bridge Street and the Lagoon Leisure Centre as well as at various locations throughout Paisley town centre says the council.

In a statement, they said: "Renfrewshire House car park on Cotton Street in Paisley is due to undergo important structural repairs that will mean a temporary reduction in the number of spaces available to the public at evenings and weekends.

"The affected areas on the lower ground floor will be cordoned off from Saturday 17 February and a temporary route will be in place for the duration of the repair works.

"Work is due to begin on Monday 19 February and is expected to last for around two months.

"Alternative parking is available nearby at Bridge Street and the Lagoon Leisure Centre as well as at various locations throughout Paisley town centre.
