Teachers in Erskine have organised a 'special' assembly in honour of a 16-year-old boy who was found dead in a field.
Staff at Park Mains High School have arranged the event for friends and fellow S5 pupils of Owen MacDonald at 3.15pm tomorrow.
Extra support is being offered to students who require it.
Michael Dewar, headteacher, said: "Many of you will now be aware of the tragic news of the death of Owen MacDonald, an S5 pupil at Park Mains High School.
"The thoughts of the whole school community are with his family and friends at this very sad time.
"As the majority of senior pupils are now on study leave for exams, a special assembly has been arranged for S5 pupils and any of Owen’s close friends in the school on Wednesday, May 3, at 3.15pm.
"Ongoing support is available for all pupils and those who wish to access support should contact their guidance teachers in the first instance.
"Pupils will be expected to make their own travel arrangements to the school and transport home will be provided if required."
Owen's body was discovered on Sunday at around 5.40am in a field adjacent to Rashielee Avenue by three men who were on their way to a nearby petrol station.
The death is being treated as 'unexplained' and police have confirmed thye do not believe it to be suspicious.
