A MAN was left soaked in blood after being stabbed in the head three times in Johnstone.
The knife-wielding attacker is still on the loose and police are still trying to establish his identity.
The violent assault happened in the early hours outside Cartside Community Centre on McLaurin Crescent.
During the attack, the 30-year-old victim’s face was sliced three times by a knife carried by the attacker.
A passer-by called an ambulance when the man stumbled onto Graham Street and police were soon on the scene.
The man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment to deep cuts on his face.
Police are still trying to track down the suspect who took part in the brutal assault at around 12.40am on Sunday.
A police spokesman confirmed: “A 30-year-old man was attacked and suffered three stab wounds to his head.
“He made his way to Graham Street when a passer-by saw him and contacted an ambulance.
“He was taken to the hospital with facial injuries and has since been let out of the hospital.
“There was no noise reported by those in the area. We have carried out a lot of door to door enquiries but nobody appears to have heard anything.
“We have called on witnesses but they do not know who it was. We are also currently looking at CCTV footage.”
The man has since left the hospital after receiving treatment for cuts to his head.
Enquiries are continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Paisley CID on 101.
