A JOHNSTONE man is facing trial accused of torching a vehicle in the town.
Jordan Cook denies wilfully setting fire to the Ford Focus in Arran Drive last year.
Prosecutors claim the 25-year-old, of Sheldrake Place, left the blue five-door hatchback damaged after setting fire to it on October 24, 2016.
When he appeared in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court this week for a pre-trial hearing, defence solicitor Gordon Ritchie confirmed Cook was pleading not guilty to the single charge against him.
Sheriff James Spy remanded Cook in custody and a trial is due to take place next week.
