SCOTRAIL Alliance is urging customers on the Largs line to check their journey times before they travel.
This is due to engineering works taking place on weekday evenings until February 16.
On Monday to Thursday nights, buses will replace trains Glasgow Central and Largs from 8.45pm, and from Largs to Glasgow from 9.52pm.
Paisley Gilmour Street, Johnstone, Milliken Park, Howwood and Lochwinnoch stations will all be affected.
A ScotRail Alliance spokesman said: "These are vital works and we appreciate our customers’ patience.
"We would ask that they carefully check their journey plans, as the replacement buses will take longer than the trains, which could impact on onward public transport connections."
The train operator is encouraging customers to plan ahead and check their journey plans on the ScotRail app or at scotrail.co.uk.
