A group of 27 primary three pupils joined their teachers Mrs Alexander and Mrs Nicol in an adventure through the Bluebell Woods, which lie on the school’s doorstep.
The school works closely with forestry commisioner Derek Shannan who was more than happy to set up an Easter trail for the explorers to follow which helped them learn about trees and plants along the way.
A few familiar markers throughout the trail held a Commonwealth Games theme - including Clyde the mascot - to prepare the class for entering their exciting new topic.
The drizzly weather didn’t matter as a great day was had by all and the school hopes to return to the woods for more green-thumbed adventures soon.
